Exhibition

Valmiera Art school art students' artwork exhibition from the 2014 summer workshop in Salacgriva is now available for viewing from Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in the shopping centre "R32". The exhibition will be further updated.

The works were created in the cool June of 2014 by Valmiera Art School 1st and 2nd course students and also 5th and 6th grade students participated in the Summer Art workshop in Salacgriva.

"Everybody had hoped that after the Midsummer it will be warmer and painting at the sea will give a special pleasure. Because then you can both swim and enjoy the warm sun on the beach. However, we were not spoiled by the weather - rain and wind (almost week-long) made us dress up in autumn coats and warm shoes. However, this did not prevent students from spending every spare moment at the sea shore", said Valmiera Art School deputy director of education Inese Andersone.

Salacgrivas port and the city's picturesque environment has inspired creative work. In students' artwork you can see the changing nature of both the sea and the peaceful operation of the port and the little houses and streets of the town. This exhibition only gives a little insight in the enormous range of work, which was made at the end of June 2014. 70 Art school students attended the workshop; They were guided by teachers Inese Andersone, Dace Araja, Aivars Benūžs and Lāsma Lopatko. All working hard every day- painting and drawing.

The youth will keep this workshop in memory with the interesting excursion to Kuivižu port, ever-changing sea, museum of Salacgriva, port, the church and with the visit to the paper casting masters and the artist's Imants Klidzejs ceramic kiln, where all could watch the potter's work and listen to the artist stories about ceramics.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Ltd "LVKV"
